route29 ☂ 3rd spell ☂ video
[The feed kicks on to show a dark, dark view. As in near nothing visible. The gear lights up a bit, but not much, and apparently just catches the attention of someone nearby.]
What- Penguin! What did I say about the light while I'm sleeping? You'll just attract more wilds!
[Some vague scuffle happens in the dark, and the one thing in view changes from a Piplup foot, to an orange necktie.]
Wait- did you turn this on?! Ugh-
Sorry for the announcement, anyone hearing this... Hikaru, if you're out there somewhere and reach that cave on the route, don't come in it! This place is huge and it's hard enough finding the exit again, so finding you inside-
[And then there is the sound of something moving around behind her, and then a "Geodude!" yell before Umi calls right over it.]
Ahhh- Mud Pie- Water Pulse that thing!
[There's the sound of water gushing, and then nothing.]
Did you get it?
[Silence, and a relieved sigh, and the talk from then on is too muffled to hear, but apparently Umi's forgotten all about the still-on gear.]

[After all, it's a good suggestion she hasn't tried yet.
Indeed, there is an imprint of feet far too light to notice without crawling with the light... but there's also something shining in the gear view - slime, as it turns out from an up close look.]
Ah, that's right! Mud Pie's been following me! Well aren't you helpful?
["Shell?"]

Ha! I told you. That's why amateurs shouldn't- do what you were doing!

[Sorry, she's more flippant than fazed. She has slime to follow!
And never mind she's near tripping to see it on the walk. And running into walls and tripping rocks along the way.]

[More sheepishly, and with some concern,]
H-hey, careful...

[But her irritation's more flimsy than before, and the crunching of her moving about slows down.]
Do you remember if there's anything given in our packs to help? I can't see mine to check.

[Apologies for the sudden button beeping and tapping over the call.]

[Too bad, her direction's taken as a certain success.
Thankfully it is, and the cave lights up the tiniest but.]

[Er... she was expecting just her own trio. Not a barrage of Zubats creeping behind, all rising up at the sudden light.]

[She can't tell what's going on, but it sounds like Pokemon.]
-use all your Pokemon to fight them off! There's a lot, right?

[A kid with a type advantage, but still. A zubat manages to get at her head and make her drop her gear, so the video feed might be jolting on and off as she tries swiping it off]
Aaahh-- You two! Come on, help!! Water Pulse- Something!

[You're probably not listening to her, are you, Umi...]

[Apparently enough to complain, but her voice is coming in teetering volume, thanks to the running.]
Why won't they just leave off-

There's some muffled speaking (she's not speaking to the Gear this time) that sounds like "Here... now, Swords Dance."
The video clicks on... with the glow of a stat-boosting attack providing a little bit of light for Umi.]

Well, whatever that was, Umi fights the blinking and holds up the light of the phone in the face of an incoming Zubat, distracting it enough for her trio to finish scaring them off with a triple Water Pulse.
And once that's done, she's rubbing her eyes as she looks into the screen.]
How did you do that?

My Pokemon. [It might be hard to see, but there's a video of an Absol in the screen.]
[Quieter, to her Absol,] Now, again!
[The video lights up again.]
Hurry up and use the light!

But there's no time to bask, so.]
Alright alright- Come here, you two!
[She gathers her Shellos in her free hand and badgers her Piplup into to hanging onto her shoulder bag, before looking up at her still attacking Vanillite.]
Come on!
[Aaaaaand, off they go. Running from the bats while there's light to see.]
