[There's no video on this call- but there is a nice, abrupt question across the network.]

If somebody just up and disappears here - no word or reason - and leaves one of their monsters behind, that means this place pulled them out.

Yeah, that's right. Anyone who left and have their Pokemon left behind went home.

That's generally what it means, yes. [A short pause, then:] You can be sure by trying to call them. If you can't connect to their 'gear, it means that they're gone and not just lost.

[The acceptance is appreciated- if not demonstrated.]

Why would only one of us go back, though? We come from the same place!

No. If they had lost their gear or broken it, the call would go through but they wouldn't answer. If they're gone, you'll receive a pre-recorded error message when you try to call. That's how you know they're no longer in this world.

[He really hates that phrase. 'I don't know'.]

How we're chosen to go back seem really random. If there's a pattern to it, we haven't discover it yet.

It can't be anything that makes sense- We both need to be back there, to move forward!

[Grant it, she gathered Hikaru wasn't from... the same "time" as her, but how could that work now, Umi still left behind and Hikaru off in some future?]

[She doesn't want to admit that's exactly what she heard. She might sound muffled now, since she dropped the arm holding the gear up.]

That doesn't make sense... She was just here with me! How did she disappear right under my nose?!

The same way we all appear here from our worlds with no warning or reason. It's the way this world works and no one has found out why.

[Another pause, and then he continues:]

It's more than likely better this way. I've heard that some people don't answer their gear for over two months before they finally disappear, so a sudden disappearance at least leaves no questions.

...well that wouldn't happen with Hikaru. She'd never stop talking to me or anyone else, if she could answer.

[Which answers her own question more than she likes.]

[Oh, it's someone he knows... and with a quite worrisome message.]

That's what I heard... yes. It seems that the ones who leave can somehow leave their Pokémon to those they cared about here.

Then you have the answer to your original question. All you can do now is wait for her return, if it ever happens.

[And hope she remembers, if they're from different worlds. But he's not mentioning that. Nope.]

[Time stops while they're here. If only one person is here, then their entire world's stopped? Or keep on moving, as if they never left?]

...I get that, but we still have to find a way back first.

I've heard of that, but I'm sorry, I'm still so new here I don't know myself.

Because there's nothing else we can do. Some people have been here for years, and despite searching, they've found no way to either send us all back or bring back the ones who've already left. We can only wait for whoever controls this world to make their next move.

-well you better know fast. People might get grabbed from here, just like we were dropped in.

Just because no one's managed it before, doesn't mean I can't! I just have to get lucky, or not give up, or something! If I don't find a way, I don't.

But I'm not going to give up on finding my friends myself!

Then go ahead and look. But if people who have been here for over a year can't find anything, what makes you think adding one more person to the search is going to do any good?

Yeah, I think so. If there's a way to bring us here, then I believe we just need to figure out how and learn to control the process.

[That's what he believes. The problem is the journey to finding the answer.]

You know you can't do that alone. There's people here who's willing to help out.
